During this period attended the laboratory of Benthic Ecology and analyzed various samples. This research later led to the preparation of the aforementioned thesis (see “Publications”). 1996: attendance at the “Station de Reserches Sous-marines et Oceanographiques (STARESO)” in Calvi (Corsica), in conjunction with a CEE grant, included in the Leonardo 96 program. The fellowship allowed the attendance of a specialized course on different methodologies applied to marine biology, as well as the attendance of post-degree practice on the influence of environmental factors on the distribution of Blennidae and Tripterigiidae families on rocky bottoms. During the whole stay at the Station also a member of the STARESO scientific diving team, working on the Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) programs across the Corsican territory (see “Publications”). 1996-2005: attendance at the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI-NAGREF) of Kavala (Greece), following the attainment of a CEE grant enclosed in the Leonardo 97 program and another from the Greek Ministry. The latter concerned the attendance of a specialized course of Fishery biology, through the analysis of stomach contents, otholits and scales of fish caught with traditional trawling and coastal fishing methods. During this period participated in several national and international programs (see “Publications”). Contemporarily, was part of the scientific diving staff of the Institute, performing Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) and monitoring some artificial reefs in the North of Greece (Fanari in Tracia and Ierissos in Calcidica, 1997-2004). From 1998 until now I am also involved in carrying out visual census of the cetacean population in the Gulf of Kavala, as well as interviewing local fishermen about damages/losses caused to the fleet – in term of net damage - by the dolphins’ population and in writing of the application of European projects concerning the aforementioned subject and the possibility of protecting and monitoring some areas of particular interest. In 2003 I was uncharged of the coordination of the ANREC project (QLRT-2001-01216) “Association of Physical and Biological processes acting on Recruitment and Post-Recruitment stages of Anchovy” funded by the Fifth Framework Program of the EEC. 2000-2001: teacher in the Private School for Italian Language “Dante Alighieri” of the course of Biology to the students that are preparing to attend the admission examination for the Italian University, Faculty of Medicine and other scientific faculties. During my permanence I kept relation with the local communities for the touristic development of the area, proposing several activities inside and outside the village. I also delivered theoretical lessons and practical activities on biology and ecology of local flora and fauna. 2005-now: General partner in the touristic society ADAMAS & Co. operating in Greece and Italy on the ecological awareness and marine environmental education.
